With Ballerup unplayable on Saturday, Duncanrig's 3rd round Scottish cup tie was moved to the 3g park at Jock Stein in Blantyre. Duncanrig changed formation going 4-4-2, with Kevin Gallagher dropping to left mid and Scott McAuslin slotting in at right back. Duncanrig took the lead after 10 minutes when Gallagher received the ball at the edge of the Orchard Park 18 yard box and unleashed a unstoppable shot past the keeper, they didn’t have long to double there lead when John Millar played a long ball to Paul Slavin who then managed to pick out Greg Allan at the edge of the 18 yard box, where Allan stuck a great volley past the helpless Orchard Park keeper. Duncanrig at this point were looking good to adding there names into the hat for the 4th round but Orchard Park had different ideas and with 5 minutes left of the second half pulled a goal back to go in at half time 2-1 down.
Orchard Park then got back onto level terms half way through the 1st half when a mix up between Rig keeper McAuslin and left back Paterson gave possession away and Orchard Parks right winger managed to pick out one of his forwards at the back post for him to bring his team level. Duncanrig did try to get the winner with Slavin, Weir and Lang all missing good chances to win the game for Duncanrig who will now have to try and get into the 4th round next Saturday when they travel to Muirend in the replay.
